How do I request a DBS certificate reprint?

Modified on Fri, 2 Jan at 3:30 PM

If you have not received your DBS certificate in the post, then you can request a reprint. Reprints can only be requested within 3 months (93 days) of the certificate being issued.

You will need to wait 14 days from the date your certificate was issued before you can request a reprint. If you have not received the certificate within 14 days, then you can email the DBS at  DBSReprints@dbs.gov.uk. You will need to complete the reprint form which can be found here. The DBS will aim to process your request within 5 working days.

The certificate will be sent to the current address provided on the application form; this cannot be changed. If you have moved address since your application was submitted, you will need to set up mail redirection through Royal Mail before requesting a DBS certificate reprint.

When a certificate reprint can’t be requested

The DBS will be unable to issue a certificate reprint if it has been over 3 months (93) from the original certificate issue date.

If the certificate has been lost or destroyed since after receiving it.

Finally, the DBS will not issue a certificate reprint if a reprint has already been requested and dispatched and the copy has not been received.

In any of these cases, if a certificate is still needed, a new DBS application must be submitted.
